About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Providing guidance and interpretation of USG regulations, including ITAR, EAR, BATFE, Anti-boycott Regulations, US Census, and Customs Regulations.
  • Working with various functional areas (Contracts, Supply Chain Management, Program Management, Engineering, New Business, etc.) to determine their export/import needs.
  • Preparing and submitting necessary export/import authorization requests required to support international programs and managing all post approval activities such as recordkeeping, reporting requirements, approvals for data exports and international shipping authorizations.
  • Assisting Global Trade Manager to develop and implement appropriate strategies to meet business requirements and ensure full compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Formally presenting in meetings, training environments and responding to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors related to export/import compliance.
  • Supporting corrective action implementation and negotiating export/import control issues with internal and external customers and resolve issues in a win/win manner.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in import or export trade compliance and/or international contracts.
  • Basic knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and other US Government Export Regulations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret level security clearance.
  • Basic knowledge of Customs/Census, FAR/DFARS, TINA and other US Government Regulations preferred.
  • Experience in reviewing and understanding contracts and associated scope of work and requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with DESCARTE OCR EASE Export & Import Global Trade Compliance Software preferred.
  • Experience providing training to export licensing personnel and functional requesters preferred.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers.
