About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build systems using engineering drawings, configuration & recovery documentation
  • Support startup & shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, as well as post-delivery support
  • Support the build and installation of custom cables and wire harness assemblies as well as tray assemblies from engineering drawings and interconnect diagrams
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
  • Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
  • Conduct preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency and quantitative judgments concerning technical data
  • Travel up to 25% may be required with occasional surge travel periods of up to 40%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related professional/military experience for Engineering Technician 2
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related professional/military experience for Engineering Technician 3
  • Active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards
  • Working experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards
  • Working experience with industry standards for connectors including, but not limited to D38999, Dsub, twinax, RJ45, etc.
  • Physically able to move up to 50 lbs.
  • Color vision to identify cables and wires
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude to learn new material quickly
