About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team on key efforts to develop novel HW integration and test on developmental NGAS programs
- Contribute to the overall development of HW subsystems, including developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements
- Design, develop, build, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks in conjunction with key suppliers
- Responsible for requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware specifications
- Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
- Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams, including hardware, software, and firmware engineers
- Develop supplier documentation such as procurement specifications, and statements of work, and review artifacts from the supplier’s development effort
- Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
- Support development and integration of HW subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
- Develop integrated HW integration and test
- Performing functional and performance analyses
- Conducting detailed trade studies
- Perform analyses and estimate performance of components, subsystems, and systems in accordance with governmental and commercial standards.
- Configure, test, document and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR Ph.D. AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
- Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
- Experience in RF/EW applications, including developing and applying models in Matlab, Python, and/or C/C++, along with experience in tracking and algorithm development
- Familiarity with 1 or more RF sensing modalities and their applications
- Experience in decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level
- Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
- Experience in supplier/subcontract management
- Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for airborne platforms
- Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
- An active U.S. Government issued Top Secret SCI Security Clearance as well as Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
