About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Functional-requirements development – Elicit, document, and prioritize system functional requirements.
  • System-engineering decomposition – Translate functional requirements into hardware and software architectures; define clear interfaces.
  • Cameo Systems Modeler production – Build Activity, Internal Block Diagram (IBD), and Block Definition Diagram (BDD) models; maintain model traceability and version control.
  • Cyber-architecture support – Apply JSIG/NIST guidance to map cyber requirements onto system designs.
  • Zero-Trust & IAM concepts – Contribute to Zero-Trust network and RBAC/IAM design documentation.
  • Cloud-integration assistance – Support Azure (and optionally AWS/GCP) architecture teams with model-based representations of cloud services.
  • Automation & IaC – Write lightweight Ansible/Terraform scripts or PowerShell modules to provision test environments referenced in models.
  • CI/CD pipeline participation – Integrate model validation steps into build pipelines (e.g., model-to-code generation, automated consistency checks).
  • Integration-test planning – Draft test plans, execute data-flow verification, and support real-time command validation.
  • Documentation & Review – Produce architecture briefs, interface control documents (ICDs), and conduct peer reviews.
  • Mentorship – Provide guidance to junior engineers on MBSE practices and Cameo tool usage.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 1 year of relevant military / professional / academic experience
  • Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Must have experience developing Activity, IBD, and BDD models; experience with model libraries and traceability
  • Must have experience with cross-domain solutions, multi-level security (IL-4/5/6), and government-furnished hardware/software (GFX/GFE)
  • Must have experience with NIST, JSIG, and US Government cyber-risk frameworks
