About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develops the acquisition/sourcing strategies and leads the activities for GSC in all phases of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP);
- Ensures that prior to program execution, all elements of the proposed program(s) plans have complete and accurate schedules, budgets, make/buy plans, and procurement and subcontracts strategies;
- Leads supply chain Program execution and is accountable for resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, supplier performance, and supply chain issue resolution;
- Briefs the Program Management Office (PMO) and executive management on the status and issues affecting Program cost and schedule performance;
- Participates in negotiations;
- Conducts program reviews with the suppliers, subcontractors and program office;
- Makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor; and
- Working with the Supplier Management Team (SMT) ensures subcontractors have established milestone objectives and that they meet schedules, contractual specifications and all compliance requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years’ experience (or 8 years with a Masters) in defense or aerospace systems and/or management in development or production projects.
- Experience managing people
- Subcontracting experience including working knowledge of basic construction terms and industry practices.
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain management techniques, practices or theories gained through wide seasoning and/or special development.
- Typically, a broad functional knowledge.
- Experience in leading managers and/or professionals to achieve projects cost, performance, and schedule requirements.
- Experience creating and maintaining trusted relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
