About the role
- IPT-Level role, member of HW Design Team responsible for segment and CI mechanical design
- Work at the Segment/IPT level of an extremely complex System comprised of multiple Segments incorporating mature and emerging technologies
- Support the hardware design team lead and partner with other engineering functions to progress and mature the segment
- Support critical engineering reviews and milestones (SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR)
- Serve on-site in Redondo Beach, CA or the greater Baltimore, MD
- Position contingent upon acquiring and maintaining a U.S. Government security clearance per customer requirements
- Participate in system architecture, requirements/interface management, and multidisciplinary integration activities
- Support hardware/software integration, test planning and execution, and operational support as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with at least 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master's Degree; OR 1 years with a PhD (Principal level)
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least 8 years of experience; 6 years with Master's Degree; OR 4 years with a PhD (Senior Principal level)
- Familiarity with architectural studies, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface management
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes, specifically system architecture
- Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong technical briefing skills
- U.S. citizen
- Current Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI and a Polygraph prior to start
- Willingness to serve on-site in Redondo Beach, CA or the greater Baltimore, MD
- Travel: Yes, 10% of the time
- Preferred: Current Active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related field specializing in thermodynamics and heat transfer
- Preferred: Demonstrated experience in setting-up, executing, and post-processing thermal experiments for thermal model validation and material characterization
- Preferred: Experience with MBSE and Requirements management tools, such as Cameo and DOORS
- Preferred: Familiarity with hardware/software integration, test planning & execution, or operational support
- Preferred: Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools: Jira or Confluence
- Preferred: Familiarity with data visualization tools: Tableau
