About the role

  • Serve as the product owner of a product team collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams (Systems Engineering, Real-time & Embedded Software, Test Automation, DevOps, Systems Test) in an Agile software development environment
  • Oversee and review system capabilities that resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls
  • Develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized embedded Mission Systems applications using software engineering best practices and standards
  • Participate in full life-cycle software development: requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance
  • Provide leadership, improve organization and program processes and procedures, and ensure on-time performance
  • Interface with all levels of employees and management and mentor/coaching team members
  • Coordinate across disciplines to deliver products and maintain program security and clearance requirements

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development
  • Demonstrated professional experience with an Agile Framework within the last 3 years
  • Demonstrated professional experience implementing software and scripts in one or more Object Oriented Programming languages: C++, scripts in C, AND/OR Python
  • Demonstrated professional experience with software change control, change management, and CI/CD tools such as not limited to: GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, and/or Atlassian tool suite
  • Demonstrated Professional Experience with at least one of the following Cloud technologies and service providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft (MS) Azure, OR Google Cloud within the last 3 years
  • Active in-Scope, DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Start date is contingent upon the ability to obtain special program access; required to maintain both an active DoD clearance and PAR
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance
  • Travel: Yes, 25% of the Time
  • Preferred: Demonstrated professional leadership experience
  • Preferred: Experience in software architecture
  • Preferred: Experience with virtual machines and virtual networks: VMware, Hyper-V, VPC, NSX-T, and/or NSX-V
  • Preferred: Experience with Joint Simulation Environment (JSE), Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), or High-level Architecture within 3 years
  • Preferred: Knowledge and experience with simulated threat environments such as AFSIM or NGTS and Full-Motion Flight Training Systems within the last 3 years
  • Preferred: Experience with developing software for safety critical embedded systems
  • Preferred: Familiarity with software requirements tools such as DOORS and Rational Rhapsody
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to build a diverse and inclusive team and mentoring/coaching skills
  • Preferred: Experience leading a team of 12 employees with a record of on-time performance
  • Preferred: Time management, task/resource planning, Basis of Estimates (BOEs), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and IFC planning
