About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement Cisco voice solutions, including VoIP, VTC, VQ, CMS, Jabber, and other unified communications systems.
- Develop and maintain complex dial plans, route patterns, translation patterns, route lists, groups, and calling search spaces.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) routers for SIP trunking and inter-site voice routing.
- Support and troubleshoot video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, including Cisco Telepresence, Room Kits, and integration with third-party platforms.
- Monitor and optimize voice/video quality using tolls like Cisco VQM, RTMT, and third-party monitoring platforms.
- Perform routine system upgrades, patches, and backups for UC platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex voice-related issues in a timely manner.
- Manage UCCX for multiple teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate voice solutions with existing systems.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and IT staff.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to voice communications.
- Plan, manage, and implement complex voice designs in support of customer requirements.
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
- Support teams in project designs to clarify project requirements and provide design solutions, in accordance with standards.
- Perform troubleshooting analysis of voice infrastructure and associated systems.
- Document voice hardware and software technology components.
- Install and configure Cisco voice hardware/software and accompanying technologies.
- Provide third-level support and troubleshooting of voice problems, and periodically provide after-hours and weekend support.
- Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
- Interface regularly with customers and manage customer installation timelines and deliverables to help facilitate successful deployments.
- Manage timely resolution of all critical and/or complex problems meeting SLA requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 10 years of relevant experience; a High School diploma (or equivalent) with 12 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
- Current U.S. Government 8140 (8570 equivalent) IAT level II baseline certification (example: Security+ CE).
- Current U.S. Government Secret level security clearance (at a minimum).
- Experience with designing and maintaining LAN/WAN based networks.
- Managing routing protocols on large LAN environments.
- Experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls).
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
