About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performing decomposition of Department of Defense safety manuals into requirements and allocating them to design teams for implementation
- Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of a next generation ICBM weapon system
- Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems
- Evaluate the physical security design based on the Department of Defense Safety manuals
- Interface directly with various compartments of the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems
- Use model based engineering tools on a major weapon system to pioneer a new way to evaluate and analyze modern design
- Learn a niche discipline that spans all aspects of Nuclear Power and Munitions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 0 years of experience with PhD
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- 1+ years of experience developing or reviewing requirements within DOORS or similar tool
- 1+ year experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) OR complex aerospace/defense systems
- 1+ year experience in team environments with leadership responsibilities
- 1+ year experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation
- 2+ years of experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations (for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer)
- 2+ years of experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW (for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer)
- 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Command & Control (C2), physical security, cybersecurity, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems/processes, communications systems, facility design, military aerospace development (e.g. Sentinel, Minute Man III, B-2, B-21 delivery systems) (for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer)
