About the role
- Define and maintain a data engineering roadmap; align technical priorities with business objectives and the Northrop Grumman data strategy
- Build and lead a high-performing, collaborative team; mentor engineers on design patterns, code quality, data architecture, and career development
- Champion clean, modular architecture and enforce engineering best practices
- Drive end-to-end delivery of data pipelines in Databricks, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance while meeting roadmap milestones
- Lead the migration to our Databricks enterprise lakehouse
- Collaborate with leaders and teams across various functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software or data engineering with a relevant Bachelor’s Degree OR 6 years of experience with a relevant Master’s Degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in people management leading engineering teams
- Proficiency with Databricks (or comparable modern data lakehouse platforms), cloud services (AWS), and data pipelines
- Skill in managing technical teams, process excellence, and meeting roadmap deliverables
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and executive audiences
