About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sources and procures items within the mechanical commodities, of medium to high complexity
- Initiates requests for quotations and proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers, for purchase order awards
- Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required
- Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations
- Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed
- Develop RFQ utilizing specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, components, assemblies and services
- Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, planning, operations, program and end-users
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree, in lieu of degree an additional 4 + years of professional experience will be considered
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovation behaviors in past projects, roles or experience.
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward.
- Experience in a MRP system, SAP, CostPoint
- Experience procuring in an engineering development environment
- Basic comprehension of technical drawings and documents
- Knowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations
