About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work within the Northrop Grumman Design group and will be responsible for creating drawing/design packages with proper content and ensuring compliance with applicable industry and military standards
  • Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, economy of fabrication, and verifying completed work, checking dimensions, materials, and quantities to be used
  • Review of tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints
  • Resolve drawing-interpretation issues as they arise
  • Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing using Siemens NX 1946, managed with Teamcenter
  • Serve as a liaison among various engineering disciplines, including Manufacturing and Quality
  • Model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently in Siemens NX 1946 (Teamcenter), and produce/revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME modeling and drawing standards
  • Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, and NX 1946 as required
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Perform work quickly and accurately under schedule pressure while demonstrating patience
  • Exhibit strong time management and organizational skills

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) discipline with 5+ years of related engineering design experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 3+ years of related engineering design experience, OR a Ph.D. in STEM with 1+ years of related engineering design experience
  • Must currently have an active DoD Secret security clearance at time of application
  • Demonstrated experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Working knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including CNC Mill and Lathe operations
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter
