About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the department staffing, resources, tools, and training (as needed).
  • Engage with Business Unit/Division leadership to develop estimating strategies needed to successfully capture new business.
  • Understand and adhere to internal and external policies and procedures as it pertains to the role.
  • Establish strategic relationships both internally with business unit leadership, and externally, with government counterparts.
  • Maintain a database of cost and non-cost data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (to include: Economics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Operations Analysis, Engineering) with 8+ years of relevant professional experience including people management experience – OR – Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (to include: Economics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Operations Analysis, Engineering) with 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience leading projects and/or experience directly or indirectly managing others.
  • Proven ability to evaluate, integrate, and communicate cost issues and risks to senior and executive management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business management, cost/risk modeling, pricing, estimating, and a working understanding of Government and commercial contracting and subcontracting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, negotiating and problem solving with a wide range of professionals and leadership.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
