About the role
- Provide technical oversight of design, development, and integration of software components
- Engage with business leaders and customers to understand and drive business execution
- Support the team in identifying and addressing impediments to the attainment of goals, including taking action to remove impediments where appropriate
- Drive sustainable continuous improvement, including by collating and deriving insights from data
- Generate proposal and estimates inputs for new work
- Act as a Control Account Manager (CAM) using Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Lead the team in applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools using Agile development methodology
- Guide the team in compliance with the Internal Software Development Plan (iSDP) and the Agile Development Plan (ADP)
- Coordinate with other disciplines when needed such as Systems and Hardware
- Manage people performance, provide excellent staff resources to programs, and support career development of employees
- Set, track, and measure employee performance expectations and provide coaching and mentoring
- Communicate direction from the higher level organization and uphold principles of the higher organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience, master’s degree with 6 years of experience, Ph.D. with 4 years of experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship required
- An active DoD Secret clearance
- The ability to obtain a Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start
- 3 years of experience as a Software Engineering/Development Team Leader
- 2 years of experience acting as a Control Account Manager (CAM) and using an Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Clearance Type: Secret
- Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time

- Preferred: Prior experience within an IPT lead role
- Preferred: Prior CAM (Cost Account Management) experience
- Preferred: Working knowledge of Linux or VxWorks operating systems

- Preferred: Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification for scrum master
- Preferred: Management of budget for technical activities
