About the role

  • Perform mechanical design of one or more extremely complex structural components and functional systems of company products.
  • Analyze requirements for materials, structural components, or functional systems.
  • Select applicable analytical data from previous products.
  • Oversee and guide work performed by junior engineers.
  • Develop original ideas and elaborate on preliminary design concepts.
  • Evaluate the designs of lower-level engineers and provide guidance.
  • Provide technical direction, with supporting input from relevant subject matter experts.
  • Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
  • Review designs of lower-level engineers, provide guidance of design activities.
  • Ensure that the product line is adhering to contractual and technical data package requirements.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelors in STEM plus at least 12 years of design experience or Master’s Degree in STEM plus at least 10 years of design experience or a PhD in STEM plus at least 8 years of design experience.
  • Prior experience guiding and mentoring lower-level engineers
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10-25%
