About the role

  • Design and develop industrial, domestic, and commercial systems
  • Write specifications, schematics, and diagrams coordinated with client needs, codes and other disciplines
  • Perform feasibility studies for industrial, domestic, and commercial technical developments
  • Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and federal laws and regulations and provide technical recommendations in writing
  • Apply innovative technical principles, practices, and theories to resolve technical issues
  • Perform field investigations, review as-built drawings, document findings, and provide written reports with observations, data, and photographs
  • Coordinate with Government client, team members, leadership, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate and hold meetings, recommend requirements, coordinate workflow, schedule plans of action and milestones, and provide written minutes
  • Review technical reports, RFIs, designs, design changes, project deliverables, submittals, and contractor proposals for compliance
  • Provide technical support for commissioning plans, design and construction submittals, and field inspections
  • Provide technical support for construction field activities and witness testing/commissioning efforts
  • Prepare permit applications and assist with calculations and report writing
  • Document all project communications
  • Participate in site field investigations and client/user interviews to identify project needs and constraints
  • Incorporate schematic design into design development and produce construction documents
  • Use computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis and presentations
  • Perform electrical design calculations and interpret building codes
  • Prepare electrical power system design including single line diagrams, wiring and elementary diagrams, layout and circuitry design
  • Prepare electrical specifications, wire lists, and BOMs
  • Prepare energy calculations and permit documentation
  • Take designs from initial concept through construction and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Perform coordination calculations, Arc Flash Hazard Studies, and Lighting and Photometric Studies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Architectural or Engineering college curriculum
  • Minimum 10 years design experience
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, written reports and in briefing management personnel
  • Sound understanding of technical concepts, principles, and practices applicable to multi-discipline engineering project design and construction
  • Knowledge of construction practices and methods and construction management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and verbally
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret contract documents
  • Ability to delegate tasks to others
  • Ability to design all components of a project
  • Ability to manage projects from inception to completion
  • Detail-oriented time management with the ability to meet deadlines and focus on project schedules
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in the use of Revit, AutoCAD
  • Read and interpret technical engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of electrical, lighting, energy, lightning, safety, communications, and building codes
  • Proficient in the use of Revit, AutoCAD and Electrical Design software (SKM, EZPower, COMcheck, EZ, etc.)
  • Understand electrical theories and concepts
  • Understand Arc Flash Hazard Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of customer expectations and deliverables
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Possess a passport
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • PE – U.S. Professional Engineering Registration
  • Holds an active Q-clearance
  • Candidates may be required to obtain and hold a Secret or Higher US Government Clearance
  • Proof of citizenship will be required as a condition of employment
