About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support feature development by creating acceptance scenarios and writing automation tests to validate test case success/failure
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover software defects, edge cases, and usability issues
- Write automated tests covering functional, integration, performance, and security testing domains
- Apply and enforce test automation design patterns across teams and products
- Guide teams on quality and testing best practices, including TDD, CI/CD integration, and shift-left testing
- Use data monitoring frameworks to surface performance metrics, identify trends, and flag quality risks
- Drive decision-making to achieve and maintain PCI and WCAG compliance
- Collaborate with customer support and product teams to investigate software problems, troubleshoot, narrow down, and determine root causes
- Mentor and share knowledge with junior QA team members
- Help deliver scalable, high-quality features for Nortal's donation management platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience leading test automation strategy in prior roles
- 8+ years of experience standing up and utilizing test frameworks, including API and web UI testing
- 4+ years of experience with Playwright and/or Cypress, plus WebdriverIO
- Ability to critically review, validate, and maintain AI-generated test cases
- Experience integrating test automation with CI/CD pipelines
- Comprehensive knowledge of application software design patterns and emerging technologies
- Degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
- Collaborative, positive attitude and strong sense of ownership
- Bonus: Experience with AWS or other cloud services
- Bonus: Familiarity with GitLab, Atlassian Suite, Split.io, BrowserStack, Mailtrap, Postman, Datadog, Google Analytics, Postgres, and MySQL
- Bonus: Experience with agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban, XP)
- Bonus: Experience with B2C products
- Bonus: Master's degree or further education/experience in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
