About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

As Legal Counsel within the Career Legal Expertise area of Legal & Knowledge, you are the primary point of contact for all legal matters related to the careers of employees of the Belgian Railways.
Provide well-founded legal analyses and opinions on matters within the Career domain (recruitment, career progression and termination of the employment relationship).
Contribute to the drafting, interpretation, development and harmonisation of internal regulations.
Anticipate and monitor legislative and case-law developments.
Act as the legal interface with external counsel.
Collaborate closely with other areas within Legal & Knowledge.
Participate in optimisation projects in your field and contribute to the creation and sharing of knowledge.

Requirements

What you’ll need

You hold a Master’s degree in Law and have 0 to 5 years of relevant experience in matters related to the Career unit’s activities.
You have a good knowledge of labor law and/or administrative law, as well as basic knowledge of civil procedure and social security law.
You are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
You have a functional knowledge of Dutch.
You have excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
