About the role
- Assist in developing premium rates for Individual and Small Group business.
- Support the preparation and submission of premium rate filings to state and federal regulators.
- Evaluate proposed benefit and cost‑sharing changes.
- Conduct pricing analyses and studies for Individual and Small Group segments.
- Assess the impact of proposed state and federal legislative changes.
- Perform Mental Health Parity compliance assessments.
- Provide support on additional actuarial projects as requested.
- Collaborate with internal teams and evaluate input received from cross‑departmental partners.
- Prepare and present reports with clear explanations and insights for managers and directors.
- Conduct experience studies and drill‑down analyses to identify key cost drivers and trends.
- Complete ad‑hoc modeling and analytical projects.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelors degree, preferably within Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Requires 2+ years of actuarial and/or statistics experience.
- Working towards an ASA highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience with SAS, SQL, R, or similar programming languages preferred.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and actuarial principles preferred.
