About the role

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications with interdependencies
  • Translate business needs, requirements, and user stories into technical solutions while adhering to architectural standards
  • Independently review complex business requirement documents/user stories and translate into technical specifications/user stories
  • Develop, modify and maintain complex software products, including unit and system testing
  • Enforce and mentor team on standardized code development, deployment, security protocols/standards and SDLC practices (Agile, Waterfall, Kanban)
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex problems and recommend remediation
  • Perform production support, service requests, routine maintenance and off-hours deployment/checkout as required
  • Provide status updates on development, testing and training deliverables and assist in monitoring project schedules and cost
  • Lead cross-functional teams in technical capacity, design/code reviews, architecture discussions, and infrastructure reviews
  • Provide guidance, training, and interact with external vendors and/or internal customers

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience (preferred) or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Working knowledge of software development life cycle methodology (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, Kanban)
  • Working knowledge of Open Connect Technology, .NET/Java, Automation & Cloud Computing
  • Working knowledge of NASCO claims processing system
  • Professional certification in area of expertise a plus
  • Requires working knowledge of object-oriented languages
  • Requires knowledge of markup languages
  • Requires knowledge of relational database management systems
  • Demonstrates understanding of core business functions
  • Demonstrates ability to apply structure to a loosely defined problem
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
  • Advanced proficiency in application programming and proficiency in SQL
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while also supporting others
  • Experience with MS Office tools including Visio; prefers experience with Jira/Confluence
  • Ability to lead globally distributed team
