Key responsibilities & impact

Build and ship customer-facing features and platform improvements across the full stack
Own complex technical initiatives from initial design through production rollout and ongoing operation
Provide technical leadership on architecture, APIs, data models, infrastructure, reliability, and engineering practices
Write production code, participate in code reviews, debug issues, and contribute directly to systems
Establish approaches for prompt iteration, AI evaluations, regression testing, monitoring, and measuring AI feature quality
Improve code quality, developer experience, testing, observability, performance, reliability, and operational maturity
Guide and mentor engineers and provide constructive feedback
Design pragmatic systems that support future scale and complexity
Improve AWS infrastructure, deployment processes, CI/CD, observability, security practices, and infrastructure-as-code
Participate in select customer conversations to understand requirements, investigate issues, gather feedback, and translate needs into technical solutions
Collaborate with product, design, customer-facing teams, and stakeholders
Break ambiguous problems into actionable plans and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly
Own reliable, maintainable, measurable, and successful production outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need

8–10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience operating as a senior or technical lead engineer
Strong full-stack engineering experience, with depth in both frontend and backend development
Strong experience with React and modern frontend development practices
Strong experience building backend services and APIs using Python
Significant experience designing, deploying, and operating systems on AWS
Experience with cloud infrastructure, networking, containers, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code
Hands-on experience building with AI/LLM systems in production or near-production environments
Experience with prompt engineering and prompt iteration, including designing prompts for reliability, consistency, and structured outputs
Experience creating or working with LLM evaluation frameworks, including test datasets, quality metrics, regression evaluations, human review, or automated judging approaches
Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, databases, system design, performance, scalability, and reliability
Experience making architecture decisions and evaluating technical tradeoffs
A track record of shipping meaningful features and systems to production
Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction without relying on formal authority
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across application and infrastructure layers
Ability to work effectively in environments where requirements may be evolving or ambiguous
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with customers and translate between technical and business needs
