About the role
- Lead the team responsible for the home feed and the full content creation and lifecycle experience on Nextdoor
- Facilitate strong collaboration across product, design, engineering, and data science partners
- Translate product vision into clear technical direction and shipped outcomes
- Ensure teams are aligned on priorities, execution plans, and success metrics
- Maintain project health and visibility through effective planning and delivery practices
- Be accountable for the quality, reliability, and timeliness of software shipped to millions of neighbors
- Provide technical guidance at both the architecture and product level
- Coach and mentor engineers, reinforce a high bar for engineering excellence, and create an environment where feedback is frequent, transparent, and constructive
Requirements
- Strong people management fundamentals, including one on ones, feedback, delegation, and coaching
- Experience managing multiple engineering teams, typically supporting multiple full stack pods
- Strong product intuition with experience building and shipping consumer mobile products at scale
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross functional partners across product, design, data science, and business
- Technical background with the ability to guide architecture, planning, and execution
- Proven ability to grow, and retain engineering talent while maintaining a high bar for quality and delivery
