Director of Project Management
Next LeagueDirector of Project Management leading project management in various business units for Next League, a digital growth consultant in the sports industry.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct, lead, and oversee project management of the portfolio within assigned Business Unit
- Provide recommendations and improvements to assigned projects as it relates to budget and schedule risks to maintain project health
- Monitor and maintain the progress of the portfolio regarding project plans, budget and cost tracking, customize reports, resource management as well as capacity management
- Create and maintain weekly project status for complex budgets including baseline vs. actual costs, variance analysis, expense authorizations, and purchase order closures
- Proactively address program obstacles, and go above and beyond to chase down loose ends that lead to successful product delivery.
- Establish and grow relationships with client team members.
- Create best practices when it comes to process and procedures to proactively measure and monitor project health.
- Provide recommendations and implement recommendations to improve Project Management processes and templates.
- Communicate with all levels of the organization on all matters related to projects like - project plan, risk analysis, issues, action items, scope definition, assumptions, and gap analysis.
- Research and recommend solutions to ensure sufficient resource availability; provide reliable estimates of resource allocations required for project success.
- Hire, train, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Set clear expectations, goals, and performance metrics for Project Management Team
- Provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluation, and identify opportunities for skill development for direct reports.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Education - Master's degree required with a degree in Telecommunications or a related field
- Experience - Minimum of two (2) years experience in the sponsored position or in a Project Management position.
- Special Skills - Proven experience leading project management teams for software development products within a client-facing consulting or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated ability and experience with product managers, engineering teams and key stakeholders from different business functions
- Strong customer focus, preferably for deliverables targeting third-party software developers
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients and the Next League leadership team
- Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to constantly changing business environment, work independently, drive projects to completion, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Proven track record of at scale solutions for consumer facing digital experiences.
- Proven experience in the sports industry is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with designers, developers, and product owners
