About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the corporate reference for electrical and automation assets across mining and metallurgical operations in Brazil and Peru, ensuring governance, asset integrity, and technical excellence.
  • Define, implement and evolve maintenance, reliability and electrical asset management strategies that promote safety, operational availability and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure application of corporate standards, regulatory requirements and engineering and maintenance best practices in high-complexity industrial operations.
  • Lead technical analyses, diagnostics, audits and improvement plans focused on power electrical systems, substations, distribution networks, transformers and critical assets.
  • Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and Projects to support resolution of complex problems and standardize processes across different sites.
  • Assess risks, performance and asset life cycles to support investment (CAPEX) decisions, operating cost (OPEX) planning and technology modernization projects.
  • Promote knowledge management, technical development of teams and dissemination of electrical maintenance and automation best practices across mining operations.
  • Monitor and consolidate corporate performance indicators, preparing strategic recommendations to increase asset reliability and operational stability.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mining, metallurgical, steel or other continuous-process industries with high operational complexity.
  • Strong background in technical management of electrical assets, including substations, transformers, transmission lines, distribution networks and power systems.
  • Experience in maintenance, commissioning and integrity management of critical assets.
  • Knowledge of strategic contract management, technical portfolio management and operational risk assessment.
  • Proficiency with electrical study tools such as ETAP, SKM, PTW or similar.
  • Familiarity with SAP and maintenance management KPIs.
  • Knowledge of NR-10 and applicable electrical system regulations in Brazil and Peru.
  • Ability to operate in a corporate, cross-functional and multicultural environment, influencing strategic decisions across operations and countries.
  • English and/or Spanish considered a plus.
