About the role
- Support the Central Billing Office
- Work closely with billing supervisors and specialists, practice managers, and others to ensure optimal revenue cycle efficiency and patient satisfaction
- Play a crucial role in the efficient and effective financial operations of the hospital
- Demonstrate outstanding communication skills and superior multitasking abilities
- Showcase knowledge of CMS and other insurance carrier guidelines, CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers
- Handle claim corrections and appeals
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of CMS 1500 forms
- Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written
- Knowledge of insurance websites (verifying eligibility, benefits, claim status, processing corrected claims, appeals online when applicable)
- Working knowledge of revenue cycle process; Patient registration, billing, denial tracking/resolution, accounts receivable, local/state/federal regulations, medical terminology, and payer contract familiarity
- Computer and systems competency in the following areas: working knowledge of health systems and interfaces, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and electronic health records
- Working knowledge of EPIC
- Three (3) + years of experience in revenue cycle operations
- Three (3) + years of working PB experience
