About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- A Heavy Equipment Technician maintains, diagnoses, and repairs heavy equipment used in oilfield construction environments, ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently.
- The role involves heavy equipment, heavy-haul trucks and trailers.
- To be able to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, in both shop and field settings, to minimize downtime and support operations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Off-Road) Certification
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on heavy off-road industrial equipment and haul trucks
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and powertrain systems
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures independently
- Effective communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
- Valid Class 5 license with a 3-year clean driving record
- Safety ticket: H2S, First Aid, CSO
- As a JM, you will be required to have your own tools
- Preference given to the following accomplishments: Dual ticketed with On-Road or truck and transport mechanic certificate
- Class 1 driver's licence or Class 3 driver's licence
