About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing management of NewAmsterdam Pharma's U.S. patient support services function
- Define the vision, strategy, roadmap, strategic vision, operating model, and execution plan for Patient Support Services
- Design, build, and operationalize programs supporting therapy access, reimbursement, affordability, adherence, patient education, and patient experience
- Lead launch readiness planning and execution, establishing capabilities, infrastructure, technology platforms, vendors, processes, and reporting before commercialization
- Establish and oversee relationships with patient support hubs, pharmacies, copay administrators, field reimbursement partners, and other vendors
- Lead vendor selection, RFP processes, contract negotiations, governance, and performance management
- Develop strategies addressing access barriers and supporting patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and office staff
- Partner with Market Access, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams
- Establish policies, procedures, quality standards, escalation pathways, and compliance controls
- Define and monitor KPIs and analytics for onboarding, reimbursement, affordability, adherence, operations, and patient experience
- Identify access trends, reimbursement challenges, and market dynamics and translate insights into recommendations
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies
- Serve as internal subject matter expert and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Build scalable capabilities supporting future product launches, indications, and organizational growth
- Lead budget planning and financial oversight
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, satisfaction, provider experience, and program effectiveness
- Report directly to the Executive Vice President, Market Access & Public Affairs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in patient services, market access, reimbursement, commercial operations, pharmacy, healthcare services, or related pharmaceutical and biotechnology functions
- Experience supporting pre-launch planning and commercial launch execution
- Significant experience designing, implementing, and leading patient support service programs in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Experience leading patient services strategy and execution, launch readiness, and commercialization support for a successful product launch
- Deep understanding of patient access, reimbursement, prior authorization, appeals, specialty pharmacy operations, affordability programs, and hub services
- Strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare reimbursement systems, payer dynamics, specialty distribution channels, and patient access barriers
- Experience selecting, managing, and overseeing patient services vendors, hub providers, copay program administrators, specialty pharmacies, and strategic service partners
- Success building and scaling capabilities, processes, infrastructure, and operating models within a growing commercial organization
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution and operational oversight
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data and performance metrics for business decisions and continuous improvement
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership, collaboration, communication, and influencing skills
- Ability to lead complex initiatives and align diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to operate with urgency and discipline in a launch environment, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment and accountability
- Strong business acumen and experience presenting recommendations and strategic insights to senior leadership
