About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and document stakeholder business processes and recommend refinements and improvements
  • Provide user support for complex problem analysis and resolution
  • Design and develop reports and data extracts supporting campus business processes
  • Develop technical specifications for application customizations and modifications
  • Assist with quality assurance testing of application customizations, modifications, and upgrades
  • Bridge functional stakeholders and System Computing Services technical areas
  • Analyze the impact of client processes on application capabilities and recommend efficient solutions
  • Serve as functional expert and develop technical specifications for business needs
  • Communicate user needs to IT, align stakeholder expectations with resources and application capabilities, and coordinate project progression
  • Serve as Project Lead for IAS on IT projects affecting supported business applications
  • Help clients develop effective testing scripts and ensure applications are well tested
  • Liaise between campus functional users and SCS technical staff to translate requirements into technical specifications
  • Review technical specifications developed by junior staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant experience, or ten years of direct, relevant experience
  • Relevant experience in higher education environments such as student enrollment services, human resources, or administrative services
  • Understanding of key higher-education business functions, including enrollment, human resources, accounting, procurement, and budgeting
  • Understanding of higher-education information systems
  • Ability to translate business process redesign and automation into administrative efficiencies
  • Ability and experience aligning data, policies, workflows, and information systems
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt them to NSHE IT processes
  • Creative ability and experience addressing technological, organizational, and service challenges
  • Ability to work productively with diverse individuals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for consensus building, presenting ideas and plans, and project participation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and end-user service orientation
