About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide outpatient counseling services to clients and their families under clinical supervision
- Perform client intakes and assessments
- Conduct individual, couple, family, and group counseling
- Maintain confidentiality of client treatment records
- Guide clients in developing skills and strategies to manage presenting issues
- Collect client information through interviews, clinical review, observations, and tests
- Prepare and maintain treatment records and reports
- Advocate for clients by coordinating services and resolving emergency problems in crisis situations
- Develop, implement, and track treatment-plan progress
- Initiate discharge planning as necessary
- Use professional resources such as case conferences, consultants, supervision, and relevant literature
- Maintain timely clinical documentation
- Participate in audits, policy development, and quality improvement programs
- Attend meetings, trainings, community outreach, continuing education, and other required activities
- Participate in weekly group and/or individual clinical supervision and oversight
- Meet position productivity expectations
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of human behavior, performance, individual differences, learning, motivation, psychological research methods, and assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
- Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures, and their history and origins
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing personalized customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with individuals from various social, cultural, and educational backgrounds
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment
- Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred
- Required Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Counseling (MC), or another behavioral health-related field
- Required Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) in good standing with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners
- Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- New hires must pass a pre-employment background check and drug testing
- Preferred: 1+ years in Behavioral Health Counseling or related work experience
