About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform detailed design of all aspects of electrical power systems
Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies
Develop protective relay settings
Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects
Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and other commissioning activities
Provide occasional field assistance and troubleshooting
Check the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel
Assist with client contacts and communication
Support business development via Seller-Doer
Prepare technical write-up for applicable change orders
Attends safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines
Maintain professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards
Provides field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
FE is required; PE preferred
Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution
Base knowledge of Protection & Control Schemes
Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design
Proficiency with power system studies software such as PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM
Previous experience coordinating and managing projects with key clients, customers, contractors and others
Familiarity with the Oil & Gas market sector
Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
Good interpersonal and people skills
Self-starter with strong initiative
