About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform detailed design of all aspects of electrical power systems
  • Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies
  • Develop protective relay settings
  • Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects
  • Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and other commissioning activities
  • Provide occasional field assistance and troubleshooting
  • Check the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel
  • Assist with client contacts and communication
  • Support business development via Seller-Doer
  • Prepare technical write-up for applicable change orders
  • Attends safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines
  • Maintain professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards
  • Provides field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
  • FE is required; PE preferred
  • Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution
  • Base knowledge of Protection & Control Schemes
  • Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design
  • Proficiency with power system studies software such as PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM
  • Previous experience coordinating and managing projects with key clients, customers, contractors and others
  • Familiarity with the Oil & Gas market sector
  • Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
  • Good interpersonal and people skills
  • Self-starter with strong initiative
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
