About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage a team comprised of engineers, drafters, designers, and/or technicians
Ensure accurate, timely, and quality completion of Electrical Engineering scopes assigned to the team
Promote, implement, and reinforce internal processes and workflows that improve quality, consistency, and efficiency across the department
Assign work to and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff
Review and verify the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy
Support business development via Seller-Doer, assist with marketing tasks, and prepare proposals as needed
Prepare technical write-up for applicable change orders
Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports
Maintain professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards, and construction practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
8+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
FE is required, PE is preferred
Knowledge and familiarity with voltage distribution above 240kV, switchgear, motor control centers, and industrial instrumentation and controls
Ideally, experience with HB Substations for datacenters
Proficiency with AutoCAD
High proficiency with power system software such as DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, EasyPower, ETAP or SKM, CDEGS, and CYMCAP preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and standard computer software
Proven record of delivering a high standard of quality work with attention to detail
Ability to develop staff through mentoring and coaching
A strong command of the English language
Good interpersonal and people skills
