About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the technical SME for NEC's Public Safety solutions
  • Define and maintain product and solution architecture standards
  • Develop technical collateral, design guides and demo environments
  • Support product roadmaps and non-functional requirements
  • Engage with customers to gather technical requirements and shape future solutions
  • Support workshops, solution demonstrations, proposals and bid responses
  • Provide technical leadership across NEC's Public Safety solutions portfolio
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Pre-Sales and customers
  • Help define product architecture, influence roadmaps, and deliver solutions supporting emergency services and critical response agencies across ANZ

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years' experience across software, systems, infrastructure or solution engineering environments
  • Significant experience in Solution Architecture, Software Architecture or Senior Software Engineering roles
  • Experience providing technical leadership and influencing technology strategy
  • Strong understanding of SaaS platforms and product-based business models
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working within structured project environments and delivering to project milestones
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across applications and infrastructure
  • Experience with application integration technologies, APIs, SDKs, messaging technologies, scripting and automation
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Windows domain environments
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server platforms
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
  • Working knowledge of MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Working knowledge of virtualisation platforms including VMware or Hyper-V
  • Desirable: Emergency Services, Control Room or Public Safety systems experience
  • Desirable: Exposure to Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), critical communications or emergency response systems
  • Desirable: Knowledge of radio technologies including UHF/VHF, PTToC and P25
  • Desirable: Experience within PABX, IP Telephony or Contact Centre environments
