About the role
- Perform engineering process development and testing to support manufacturing of gas centrifuges for UF6 enrichment
- Empirical and simulated rotordynamics using existing tools and developing new techniques and engineering software
- Develop software for data acquisition, digital signal processing, and analysis of high-speed signals
- Conduct dynamic testing including experimental modal analysis (EMA)
- Design and automate tests
- Model verification and validation
- Participate in technical design and paper reviews as primary engineer or panel member
- Make independent decisions on complex engineering problems and methods
- Prepare and present routine and special engineering reports and design documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related fields of study
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in rotordynamics
- Experience in dynamic testing
- Experience in digital signal processing (DSP)
- Software development in Python
- Finite element analysis (FEA) in ANSYS
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
- US citizenship required
- Optional: Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Optional: Preference may be given to candidates with higher level of experience
- Optional: Active DOE Q Clearance
