About the role
- Provide strategic leadership for financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, budgeting, and forecasting
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on financial planning, risk management, and growth strategies
- Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and GAAP standards, as well as DOE, NASA, and DoD financial requirements
- Lead company-wide budget development, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, indirect rate structures, and government-required reporting
- Direct and optimize the use of Deltek Costpoint across accounting, reporting, and project management functions
- Manage company readiness and responses for government audits (DCAA, DCMA, DOE OIG), including audit defense strategies
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, internal controls, and risk management frameworks
- Drive improvements in financial processes, automation, and reporting accuracy
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering professional growth and succession planning
- Partner with Contracts, HR, Operations, and Program Management to ensure financial accuracy across projects and business lines
- Represent Navarro to banks, auditors, government agencies, subcontractors, and other external stakeholders
- Support M&A evaluations, cost/pricing strategies, and strategic business development initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred)
- Must have experience responding the DCAA audits
- CPA or CMA certification highly preferred
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint (required)
- Deep understanding of government contracting financial management, including FAR, CAS, and GAAP compliance
- Proven track record of successfully managing government audits and indirect rate strategies
- Experience leading financial strategy in a mid-to-large government contracting organization
- Demonstrated ability to partner with executives and influence company-wide strategy
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop teams
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience supporting business growth through mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale contract transitions is a plus
- US citizenship required due to government contract/clearance requirements
