About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance services independently
  • Respond to emergency calls 24/7 when necessary
  • Troubleshoot critical power systems, identify root causes, and carry out repairs to minimize downtime
  • Adhere to job requirements and perform tasks accurately

  • Communicate with and educate customers on equipment operation
  • Maintain and secure company tools and equipment
  • Support sales opportunities by recommending critical power equipment and related products
  • Submit necessary paperwork accurately and on time
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members
  • Attend product-specific training sessions
  • Assist with equipment commissioning
  • Handle battery installation, removal, and disposal procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering technology or a related field
  • At least 4 years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining critical power or similar equipment
  • Willingness to learn technical skills through various training methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Self-motivated and able to independently manage workload
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license with auto insurance required
  • Current vehicle insurance and licenses required
  • Completion of factory training or equivalent in repair and maintenance of multiple leading UPS brands preferred
  • Previous critical power field service experience preferred
  • Proficiency with electrical/electronic test equipment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and schematics preferred
  • Understanding of Ohm's law and electronic theory preferred
  • Skill in evaluating equipment operating conditions preferred
