About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist on bison and climate policy in Yellowstone National Park
Support engagement with Tribal Nations and Indigenous organizations
Participate in gatherings and meetings focused on Indigenous engagement
Assist with the development of policy alternatives for the Yellowstone Bison Management Plan
Support youth engagement and education with NPCA and partners
Coordinate with NPCA staff on bison, climate, and youth education
Contribute to NPCA’s organizational learning and growth

Requirements

What you’ll need

1-2 years of relevant experience (including previous experience as an NPCA Western Indigenous Fellow)
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Tribal Historic Preservation or related studies, and/or equivalent experience
Interest in cultural and natural resource protection and the Northern Rockies Region
Commitment to working well with diverse backgrounds and communities
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in presentations and writing
Basic computer skills – proficiency with MS Word and Outlook preferred
Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
