About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide professional actuarial support for collaborative review and approval of Compact product filings
- Review product and rate filings for compliance with Uniform Standards, Rules, Operating Procedures, and Filing Requirements
- Complete objection letters, actuarial checklists, correspondence, and filing documentation
- Follow through on responses and document regulatory decisions
- Collaborate with actuaries, product reviewers, Compact leadership, and Product Operations to resolve actuarial questions and manage workload
- Respond to pre-filing inquiries and actuarial questions from company filers, regulators, insurers, consulting filers, consumers, and other stakeholders
- Provide actuarial guidance, training, presentations, background materials, and reports
- Attend and support Product Operations, Commission, Compact, NAIC committee, and technical group meetings as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 2 years of actuarial experience working with annuities and/or life insurance
- Familiarity with Compact Uniform Standards
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation required
- Experience with annuity and/or life insurance product development, pricing, and compliance preferred
- Group and individual product experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products
- Experience with System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF)
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
