About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Understanding functional requirements thoroughly and analysing the client’s needs in the context of the project
- Envisioning the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements, and being able to define technologies, patterns, and frameworks to realize it.
- Manage the end-to-end SAP ChaRM process via SAP Solution Manager — CR creation, CD types (ZMHF/YMHF), transport request handling, and movement across the Dev, QA, Pre-Prod ,RC8 Production landscape.
- Provide architectural guidance on SAP module integration, custom developments, and BBP-aligned solution design for FC&A, P&C, R&M, and PTC blueprints.
- Review and validate solution designs, technical specifications, and integration patterns across SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Define landscape strategy, transport governance, and release-management standards aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
- Work with development and DevOps teams to triage backlog, reduce WIP in the Develop stage, and improve cycle time.
- Integrate and pilot AI tools (SAP Joule, GitHub Copilot, ABAP-capable assistants, AI for test/doc generation) into the ChaRM lifecycle.
- Assist in auto-generation of FS/TS, impact analysis, and risk scoring of CRs using AI.
- Advise on the S/4HANA readiness roadmap, technical debt reduction, and modernization of legacy ABAP customisations.
- Coordinate with ABAP developers, functional leads, CAB stakeholders, and enterprise architects.
- Determining and implementing design methodologies and tool sets
- Enabling application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities.
- Being able to lead/support UAT and production roll outs.
- Creating, understanding, and validating WBS and estimated effort for given module/task, and being able to justify it.
- Addressing issues promptly, responding positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement
- Giving constructive feedback to the team members and setting clear expectations.
- Helping the team in troubleshooting and resolving of complex bugs
- Coming up with solutions to any issue that is raised during code/design review and being able to justify the decision taken.
- Carrying out POCs to make sure that suggested design/technologies meet the requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Total Experience: 8+ years
- Must have hands-on SAP experience, with at least 3 years in an architect or lead consultant capacity.
- Should have strong working knowledge of SAP ChaRM and SAP Solution Manager (SolMan 7.2).
- Must have deep understanding of SAP ECC 6 / EHP 8 architecture, ABAP development standards, transport management, and multi-tier release governance.
- Should have solid grasp of SAP module integration (FI/CO, MM, SD, P2P) and interfacing with non-SAP systems via IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, PI/PO, or APIs.
- Must have proven experience in solution architecture, landscape design, and writing/reviewing HLDs and LLDs.
- Must have hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agentic developer tools, including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and SAP Joule.
- Should have working knowledge of LLM orchestration and routing frameworks such as LiteLLM, LangChain, or LlamaIndex for multi-model enterprise integration.
- Should have familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, prompt engineering, and integrating LLMs with enterprise tools (Jira, ADO, SolMan, Confluence).
- Must have exposure to RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines and vector stores (e.g., pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate) for enterprise knowledge use cases.
- Should have practical experience leveraging AI for code generation, code review, test-case generation, and documentation automation in SAP/ABAP and non-SAP stacks.
- Should have familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) work-item hierarchy (Epic, Feature, Story Task).
- Must have strong stakeholder communication, documentation, and governance skills.
- Good-to-Have S/4HANA migration / brownfield conversion experience.
- Should have exposure to SAP BTP, CAP, RAP, and Fiori/UI5 architecture.
- Should have awareness of AI governance, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted test automation.
- Must have knowledge of SAP security, authorization design, and GRC integration.
- Must have experience working in large enterprise SAP environments (Finance/Procurement domain preferred).
- TOGAF or SAP-certified architect credentials.
