About the role
- Lead supplier onboarding and requalification audits to evaluate compliance with standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes for high complex electronic products with our production partners.
- Lead suppliers to address non-conformities and develop corrective action plans.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier quality and/or production issues.
- Work closely with purchasing, engineering, and operations teams to support supplier approval processes and new product launches.
- Work with the development team on DFM at an early stage of the project with the target to improve the quality and costs of the components.
- Promote best practices such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Poka-Yoke to reduce defects and improve supplier processes.
- Support our internal change management process.
- Contribute to new business initiatives, supplier strategies in close collaboration with the Purchasing Organization (e.g. VDA 6.8 ME catalogue extension).
- Travel to Production Partner/Supplier as per project business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing) is required; a Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Certification as a VDA 6.3 Process Auditor or a certified IATF 16949 Lead Auditor is required.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Management, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience with manufacturing of electronics products.
- Proven experience in leading the APQP process end-to-end for complex, critical components and directly managing Production Partner quality relationships.
- Expert, demonstrable application of all core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) at a strategic level (defining the tools, not just using them).
- Strong ability to drive, influence, and negotiate resource allocation and systemic process changes across internal functions (R&D, Sourcing) and external production partner organizations to ensure quality compliance.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to act as the final authority on critical quality issues, accepting full ownership of systemic failures and complex change management processes.
- Willingness to travel as per project needs.
