Intern – Software Product Owner
Munich ElectrificationIntern managing software deliverables and requirements within Munich Electrification's Program Management team. Working on software product management for electric vehicles and battery systems.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Backlog Management: Support the SW Product Owner in refining, prioritizing, and maintaining the software backlog to ensure the development team has clear "ready" tasks
- Requirements Engineering: Translate high-level customer requirements into detailed software functional requirements and user stories
- Sprint Coordination: Assist in sprint planning and tracking progress toward project milestones, ensuring software deliveries align with overall system timelines
- Stakeholder Interface: Act as a point of contact between technical project management, software developers, and the testing team to ensure feature alignment and clarification
- Release Readiness: Support the documentation and tracking of software defects and feature completion for series release
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a strong interest in software management
- A fundamental understanding of software development processes (Agile/Scrum) and an interest in embedded systems or BMS architecture
- Analytical Skills: The ability to break down complex technical problems into logical, manageable steps
- High motivation to take ownership of tasks, excellent communication skills in English, and a collaborative "team-first" attitude
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, or basic knowledge of Automotive SPICE and Functional Safety standards
