About the role
- Build and improve the UI for a web video player and related frontend components
- Optimize startup time, latency, and playback quality across browsers/devices
- Partner with backend and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve streaming issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 7+ years of experience building modern web applications
- Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
- Professional experience working with video streaming technologies (e.g., HLS, DASH, WebRTC, ABR, CDNs, or video players)
- Experience building and optimizing performance-sensitive user interfaces
- Experience collaborating closely with backend and infrastructure teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex, high-scale environments
- Nice to Have
- Experience working on live streaming or real-time video products
- Familiarity with browser media APIs (e.g., MSE/EME)
- Experience operating in high-scale, high-availability systems
- Passion for improving video quality and user experience at scale
