About the role
- Lead requirement gathering; engage with stakeholders (business lines, operations, risk, compliance, security) to define and document business needs, workflows, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria
- Deeply understand transaction banking product functions: payments (domestic / cross-border), cash management, liquidity management, collections/disbursements, reconciliation, fraud prevention
- Analyze existing business processes; identify inefficiencies or gaps; propose improvements
- Collaborate with solution architects, system architects, and engineering teams to design scalable, robust, secure systems
- Ensure that business requirements are translated into functional and non-functional specifications (security, scalability, SLAs, performance)
- Participate in vendor/product evaluations and implementations
- Support regulatory/compliance requirements impacting payments and transaction banking
- Ensure quality through reviewing test plans, participating in SIT / UAT, and validating that functionality meets business needs
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to ensure alignment, manage priorities, scope, changes, and risks
- Maintain detailed documentation: process flows, business rules, user journeys, data models, policies/controls
- Work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (Advanced degree preferred)
- 7+ years of business analyst / systems analysis experience
- 3-5 years in transaction banking, payments, cash management, or related financial services domain
- Strong knowledge of payments networks, standards and protocols (e.g. SWIFT, ACH, ISO20022)
- Solid understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk, and security considerations in payments and banking operations (e.g., sanctions screening, KYC, AML, data privacy, PSD2 / Open Banking / ISO20022, OFAC)
- Experience mapping complex processes / workflows; creating data flow diagrams and logical process maps
- Skilled in eliciting requirements, writing clear user stories / acceptance criteria, functional requirements documents
- Experience with digital channels (mobile/web), APIs, real-time payments, reconciliation systems
- Proficiency in tools like Jira / Confluence, BPM / process mapping tools (e.g. Visio), requirement management tool sets
- Strong communication skills; ability to interact with senior leadership and translate technical concepts to business stakeholders
- Preferred: experience with payments transformations (migration to ISO20022), familiarity with cloud-based architectures, microservices, API-first designs
- Preferred: data analysis skills (SQL or ability to understand data flows, data schemas, reporting requirements)
- Preferred: experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Ability to work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day
