Lead requirement gathering; engage with stakeholders (business lines, operations, risk, compliance, security) to define and document business needs, workflows, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria
Analyze existing business processes; identify inefficiencies or gaps; propose improvements
Collaborate with solution architects, system architects, and engineering teams to design scalable, robust, secure systems
Ensure that business requirements are translated into functional and non-functional specifications (security, scalability, SLAs, performance)
Participate in vendor/product evaluations and implementations
Support regulatory/compliance requirements impacting payments and transaction banking
Ensure quality through reviewing test plans, participating in SIT / UAT, and validating that functionality meets business needs
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to ensure alignment, manage priorities, scope, changes, and risks
Maintain detailed documentation: process flows, business rules, user journeys, data models, policies/controls
Work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (Advanced degree preferred)
7+ years of business analyst / systems analysis experience
3-5 years in transaction banking, payments, cash management, or related financial services domain
Strong knowledge of payments networks, standards and protocols (e.g. SWIFT, ACH, ISO20022)
Solid understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk, and security considerations in payments and banking operations (e.g., sanctions screening, KYC, AML, data privacy, PSD2 / Open Banking / ISO20022, OFAC)
Experience mapping complex processes / workflows; creating data flow diagrams and logical process maps
Skilled in eliciting requirements, writing clear user stories / acceptance criteria, functional requirements documents
Experience with digital channels (mobile/web), APIs, real-time payments, reconciliation systems
Proficiency in tools like Jira / Confluence, BPM / process mapping tools (e.g. Visio), requirement management tool sets
Strong communication skills; ability to interact with senior leadership and translate technical concepts to business stakeholders
Preferred: experience with payments transformations (migration to ISO20022), familiarity with cloud-based architectures, microservices, API-first designs
Preferred: data analysis skills (SQL or ability to understand data flows, data schemas, reporting requirements)
Preferred: experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
