About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring various initiatives and projects independently and/or in partnership with business partners (Operations, front offices, and others).
  • Execute various reporting tasks for the U.S. managements, regional offices (Canada, Mexico, and Brazil), and Tokyo HO, including KPIs and management decks.
  • Plan and lead initiatives and build strong partnerships with Tokyo HO, front-office teams, and key control/support functions (Technology, Risk/Compliance, etc.) to align with Tokyo HO’s direction and policies.
  • Own delivery governance and stakeholder management: establish work plans and WBS, resource estimates, schedules, and progress/risk visibility; escalate issues and drive decisions to closure across multiple stakeholders and locations.
  • Lead cross-border liaison and complex case resolution by structuring and driving time-sensitive inquiries and escalations (e.g., payment/settlement coordination).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bilingual Japanese/English required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives independently (multi-stakeholder, multi-location, tight deadlines).
  • Strong working knowledge of banking operations and related products/processes (e.g., payments/settlement operations and related change/incident governance).
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Power Automate/Power BI Desktop/Visio/Outlook) skills.
  • Proven experience working in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Ability to proactively take the initiative to work efficiently and effectively on team-oriented projects.
  • Deadline-oriented and able to perform effectively while working independently.
