About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently perform FEA and CFD analyses including model setup, meshing, boundary condition definition, solving, and post-processing.
  • Evaluate mechanical components and assemblies subjected to static and dynamic loading, thermal effects, pressure, and flow conditions.
  • Apply established modeling practices and methodologies to standard and moderately complex simulation problems.
  • Support design decisions by delivering clear, well-documented analysis results to design, manufacturing, and project teams.
  • Produce formal engineering analysis reports for internal use, documenting assumptions, methods, limitations, and conclusions.
  • Support work in regulated or quality-critical applications, including products used in nuclear, BPVC, and energy/power generation markets.
  • Contribute to design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA) sessions with cross-functional teams.
  • May provide peer input or informal review of simulation work performed by others.
  • Identify and communicate technical risks related to simulation results.
  • Support continuous improvement of simulation standards, best practices, and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Typically 7+ years of progressive experience performing FEA and/or CFD in industrial or mechanical design environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency in one or more simulation platforms:
  • ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Fluent/CFX, SolidWorks Simulation, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, Abaqus, or COMSOL.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Working knowledge of testing methodologies, testing processes, and standards.
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Python for post-processing, validation, or workflow automation (preferred).
  • GD&T knowledge (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of casting, machining, and manufacturing processes (preferred).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt (preferred).
  • FE/EIT or PE certification (preferred).
