About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to research improving language access for patients with Limited English Proficiency
- Implement study-related interpretation modalities and/or provide Spanish interpretation during medical oncology visits
- Assist with participant recruitment, survey administration, in-depth interviews, data collection and management, and other study activities
- Collect, enter, and analyze data while ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the study
- Collaborate with research and care teams across MSK and outside institutions on data input and study/participant updates
- Generate data reports and deliver them to relevant parties on study progress
- Ensure compliance with Institutional, State, and Federal regulations
- Ensure research protocols are approved by the Institutional Review Board and regulatory documentation is completed
- Report to the Research Project Associate
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is required; a language assessment is part of the interview process
- Experience interpreting for Spanish-speaking patients in a clinical or healthcare setting is preferred
- Genuine interest in health disparities research
- Experience in a healthcare setting or community engagement role is preferred
- Experience using data entry tools such as RedCap is a plus
- Ability to make timely, effective decisions
- Strong personal accountability and ability to hold oneself and others accountable
- Ability to tailor messages to different audiences and communicate clearly
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and evolving circumstances
- Comfort working with or willingness to learn how to manage and organize large amounts of data
- Flexibility to travel to MSK locations on the Upper East Side and Nassau Location in Uniondale, NY
- Availability Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm, with flexibility for 7 am–3 pm or 10 am–6 pm shifts as needed
