About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and evolve the technical vision and architecture for a next-generation high-performance computing (HPC) environment
  • Design system-level solutions that optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability
  • Support research computing workloads, including advanced analytics, simulation, and AI/ML pipelines
  • Architect Linux-based HPC platforms, clusters, and supporting services with enterprise-grade resilience
  • Evaluate and integrate cloud resources to extend or hybridize HPC capabilities when appropriate
  • Optimize compute, storage, networking, and scheduler performance based on workload characteristics
  • Partner with networking, facilities, data center, storage, and cloud teams to align infrastructure design and execution
  • Establish standards, documentation, and operational practices for HPC hybrid platforms and lifecycle management
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and roadmap planning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong background in high-performance computing environments, including cluster design and operations
  • Advanced Linux administration experience, including Red Hat–based systems
  • Experience with job scheduling and workload management platforms (e.g., Slurm or equivalent)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, distributed systems, and modern compute architectures; cloud certifications a plus
