About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise building entrances, interior spaces, and exterior perimeters
- Conduct routine patrols and remain alert to safety or security concerns
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and calls for assistance
- De-escalate conflicts and manage disruptive or aggressive behavior
- Investigate incidents and prepare clear written reports
- Operate surveillance systems and utilize digital security tools
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and facilities teams to support hospital operations
- Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining authority and integrity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid New York State Security Guard License and Fire Guard (F01) certification required for NYC
- Prior experience working as a Security Guard or in a related safety role
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
- Experience managing conflict and de-escalating challenging interactions
- Basic knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures and security best practices
- Strong written communication skills
