About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides strategic oversight and operational leadership for the logistics, planning and implementation of national community fundraising activities across Canada, ensuring a consistent, high-quality participant experience while aligning operational delivery with organizational priorities.
  • Oversees event implementation, vendor and stakeholder coordination, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful programs that engage communities, strengthen relationships, and drive fundraising growth nationwide.
  • Leads the community fundraising strategy to maximize constituent engagement and meet community fundraising revenue targets.
  • Leads a multifaceted team of Community Fundraising staff focused on relationship building and constituent experience.
  • Key external contact to top fundraisers and peer to peer landscape to build relationships to support and inspire reaching the Community Fundraising goal.
  • Leads participant stewardship and recognition plans and works collaboratively across teams to align strategies and activities, ensuring a fulsome and integrated MS community member experience.
  • Supports budget management including forecasting, pipeline planning and fundraising governance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Has progressive experience in a relevant field, such as fundraising, philanthropy, or community engagement.
  • Has peer-to-peer fundraising expertise with a strong understanding of fundraising events, community fundraising and constituent engagement.
  • Has excellent event management experience, including planning, execution, stewardship, and recognition.
  • Has strong leadership and people management skills with proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and guide a multifaceted team.
  • Has strategic and relationship-building abilities to grow revenue, strengthen community connections, and support top fundraisers.
  • Has excellent data literacy skills, with an ability to use data and insights to inform decisions, solve problems, and improve fundraising outcomes.
  • Has a commitment to continuous learning and adapting to changing needs and opportunities.
