About the role

  • Drive establishment and continuous improvement of global HR processes for Canadian locations
  • Manage full employee lifecycle for Canadian staff: draft employment contracts, oversee onboarding and offboarding, process leaves of absence
  • Maintain accurate digital personnel files in HRIS and ensure processes align with Canadian labor laws (Ontario and Quebec)
  • Assist with creating job postings, setting up onboarding/offboarding in Personio, conducting termination meetings and exit interviews
  • Support payroll administration: register new employees with benefits and authorities, report absences and salary changes, process final payments for leavers
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Canadian employees and gather feedback
  • Act as key contact for IT to ensure technical setup for new hires and seamless offboarding
  • Work up to 20 hours per week to support Canadian operations, preferably based in Ottawa

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in an HR management or generalist role
  • Experience with payroll administration (essential)
  • Extensive knowledge of employment legislation in Ontario and Quebec
  • Fluent in both English and French (oral and written)
  • Experience with Personio (strong asset)
  • Experience with Google Workspace (strong asset)
  • Training in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (asset)
  • Detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver with strong interpersonal and communication skills
