Special Education Teacher
MIYO HealthFully remote Special Education Teacher focusing on special education case management and instruction. Ensuring compliance with IDEA regulations and coordinating services for students and families.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and oversee special education caseloads in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
- Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings and annual reviews.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned students and families.
- Provide direct instruction and/or specially designed instruction as assigned.
- Support the implementation of accommodations, modifications, and individualized educational programming.
- Participate in virtual staff meetings, professional development, and team collaboration activities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active South Dakota Special Education Teacher Certification (REQUIRED).
- Certification must be active and in good standing prior to the start of employment.
- Minimum of one year of experience in special education case management and/or instruction preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with school teams.
- Previous experience providing virtual instruction or services preferred.
- Experience managing a large or diverse special education caseload.
